Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated white sugar
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup water
- 1 cup chopped nuts of your choice
- 2 tablespoons butter
-
½ teaspoon Morton & Bassett Pure Vanilla Extract
-
¼ teaspoon Morton & Bassett Cayenne Pepper
-
½ teaspoon Morton & Bassett Ground Cinnamon
-
½ teaspoon Morton & Bassett Ground Nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
Directions
Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
In a large pan, combine sugar, honey, and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar and honey have dissolved. Using a thermometer, monitor the sugar mixture and bring it up to 300° F.
At 300° F, pull the pan from the stove. Add butter, M&B Pure Vanilla Extract, M&B Cayenne Pepper, M&B Ground Cinnamon, M&B Ground Nutmeg, and nuts. Mix, then add baking soda. At this point, the sugar mixture will begin to thicken and harden quickly.
Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread it out thinly and evenly. Let it cool completely, about 30 minutes. Once cooled, crack into pieces.
