Chai Spice Old Fashioned

Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 
                1 teaspoon Morton & Bassett Chai Spice
                
- 
                3 Morton & Bassett Cinnamon Sticks
                
- 
                3 Morton & Bassett Star Anise
                
- 
                1 teaspoon Morton & Bassett Pure Vanilla Extract
                
- ⅓ cup maple syrup
- 1 cup ice, plus extra for serving
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 2 dashes bitters
- ½ orange, peeled
 
                  Directions
- Start by making a chai simple syrup. In a pot or pan with water, add M&B Chai Spice, 1 M&B Cinnamon Stick, 1 M&B Star Anise, M&B Pure Vanilla Extract, and maple syrup. Bring to a simmer, stirring frequently, until spices have infused, about 5-8 minutes. Strain into a jar and let cool. 
- In a cocktail shaker, add ice, 2 ounces bourbon, 2 dashes of bitters, and 2 ounces of chai syrup. Add the lid to the shaker and shake vigorously. 
- Strain over ice into rocks glasses. Garnish each Chai Spice Old Fashioned with a M&B Cinnamon Stick, M&B Star Anise, and orange peel.
