Ingredients
- 2 pounds apples, peeled and cored
- 1½ cup water
- ½ cup white granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
-
½ teaspoon Morton & Bassett Ground Cinnamon
-
½ teaspoon Morton & Bassett Ground Ginger
-
½ teaspoon Morton & Bassett Ground Nutmeg
-
½ teaspoon Morton & Bassett Ground Cloves
Directions
Rough chop the peeled and cored apples into small pieces. In a pot, simmer apples and water on medium-high heat for about 15 minutes, or until apples have cooked down by about a quarter.
Add sugars and reduce heat to medium. Stir frequently and cook for 20-25 minutes, until the apples are jammy.
Spice the jam with M&B Cinnamon, M&B Ground Ginger, M&B Ground Nutmeg, M&B Ground Cloves, and lemon juice. Stir to fully incorporate. Keep heat on medium and continue cooking and stirring for 5-10 minutes, until the apples have broken down. Continue cooking if apples are still in pieces.
Remove from heat, allow to slightly cool, and transfer to jars. Serve over ice cream, on toast, or with cookies.
