Blueberry Anise Gin Smash
- ½ cup blueberries
- 2 sprigs rosemary, plus 2 for garnish
6-8 Morton & Bassett Organic Star Anise, plus 2 for garnish
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 4 ounces gin
- 2 cups ice
- ½ cup soda water
In a small pot, combine water, sugar, and M&B Star Anise. Bring the mixture to a boil, then transfer it to a heat-safe container and let it cool.
In a cocktail shaker, add blueberries, lime juice, rosemary sprigs, the previously prepared simple syrup, and gin. Use a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to gently crush and mix the ingredients. Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously until the cocktail is chilled.
Take two rocks glasses and fill them with ice. Strain the cocktail over the ice in the glasses, dividing it evenly. Top each glass with soda water until the glass is full.
Garnish each glass with a sprig of rosemary and a star anise. This adds a beautiful touch and enhances the aroma of the cocktail.
